RBL Basketball programs include:

• Grade 7 boys provincial teams - RBL boys have won nine consecutive grade 7 provincial championships

 
RBL programs are reasonably priced and are offered in quality gyms in Vancouver. All programs are tailored to the needs of our participants, including the height of baskets, size of balls used, and rules for league play. Over-the-years, more than 30,000  fortunate boys and girls have registered for RBL Basketball programs!
 
RBL Basketball programs feature many experienced coaches for our holiday camps and skill development programs. Paid referees are hired for all league games.
 
History
 
RBL Basketball was started in 1997 by Russel Black and Richard Poritz, two parents who had been involved with basketball for most of their lives and with their sons’ elementary school basketball teams at L’ecole Bilingue Elemenatry School. Our original name was Real Basketball League, but it wasn’t long before our participants started referring to us as “RBL Basketball” and the name stuck.
 
For many years, Russel was in charge of the RBL girls program and Richard the boys, but, after 18 years, it was time for a change. Russel retired and Richard now helps with program administration. Our new Commissioner is Richard’s son, Blake, one of the top players produced by RBL Basketball. Blake led Sir Winston Churchill Secondary School to its first provincial championship berth in 32 years and then received basketball scholarships to Capilano College and St. Francis Xavier University. • RBL Basketball offers a variety of programs throughout the year
• Boys programs are offered from Kindergarten through Grade 10
• Girls programs are offered from Kindergarten through Grade 6
• No basketball experience is required to sign up for an RBL Camp or Skill Development program
• RBL Basketball Leagues are mostly equal play
• League coaches are offered  a top level coaching clinic
• Many RBL graduates have gone on to play basketball in Colleges and Universities in Canada and the US
• RBL graduates have played and/or are currrently playing professional basketball in Canada and around the world, including the NBA (Robert Sacre)
• RBL encourages participation in other sports and activities
• We support all school programs, including basketball
